Joseph Smith, sent a letter to John Wentworth explaining the history and Faith of the Latter-day Saints. It included what has become The Articles Faith, and this blog is about number 13; We Believe in Being, Honest, True, Chaste, Benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say we follow the admonition of Paul- We believe all things, we hope all things, we have indured many things, a;nd hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things. This will be a place to insipre, edify, strenght and enourage us to seek for the Good things, in the scriptures, in our surroundings, and how we apply this in improving our Daily lives. Let us all Seek After These Things!

I did not teach that lesson, so my ideas are a bit limited. I will say there is a quote on Page 312 that is very interesting and I think could use some thought and conversation.

I wish you to understand this subject, for it is important; and if you will receive it, this is the spirit of Elizah that we redeem our dead, and connect ourselves with our fathers which are in heaven, and SEAL up our dead to COME forth in the FIRST RESURRECTION; and here we want the power of Elijah to seal those who dwell on erth to those who dwell in heaven. This is the power of Elijah and the keys of the kingdom of Jehovah.

I thought that was interesting, what is the connection between Sealing and the resurrection? We often talk about the binding of sealing to our families, but it is even more so to Heavenly Father, but what if sealing in and of its self is necessary for the resurrection to occur. Perhaps it is going into mysteries, and resurrection is a gift granted to all by Grace through Jesus Christ, but is Sealing an extension of that grace? I hope you understand, where I am going with that thought. I wanted to bring it up during the lesson when I noticed it but our teacher ignored my hand.

I think Joseph is trying to teach us something here, that we are only scratching the surface of the significance and importance of Sealing and why the Earth would be cursed.

If sealings did not happen, all of God's plans would be confounded and that is ultimately the curse that would come upon the earth.

I hope that little bit of idea's help.
